Back to Mumbai City!

I was born in Aurangabad, and then spent my toddler years in Assam.

I have been in Mumbai since the time I could start remembering things. My kindergarten days- bus rides, first friends in school- which still remain close to my heart, my first ever achievements, milestones, fights, crushes, heartbreak, dreams. I dreamt them all here. For me, there was no place else like Mumbai. Nothing was better, nothing was comparable.

I got into college and the ugly side was exposed to me. The crowded trains, the never ending traffic jams, the floods, infrastructure breakdowns. I made up my mind to leave this place for good.

Never say never, they say.

And after 10 years, fate has brought me back to Mumbai.

As I drive down the roads in the morning, I can feel the Mumbai spirit in the air. The familiar - never say die mumbai spirit, no matter what the odds are.

So there, I embark upon this new task at hand, giving it my best shot and hoping the city supports me as well.

My mom and dad were born in the interiors of Maharashtra. Both academically brilliant, yet they couldn't be more different from each other. If my father is a mountain, my mother is a river. Years ago, I received a phone call for an interview as surgical registrar at a reputed hospital. I was in a fix, as I was stranded with a 9 month old infant at home for that week, my in-laws were out of station and my husband was busy at work. Determined to make it work and not reschedule the interview, I made a few phone calls and requested my husband's cousin to look after my son while I was away for the interview. However she refused to stay alone with a baby. So we eventually decided to all go together for the interview.
